Opening Day is next Wednesday. Now, I am not a big dove hunter. Heck, I don't even own a gun, but Dove Season represents a lot of things that I look forward to each year:
1. Fun times with friends.
Although I do not go on every hunt with J, I still love seeing everyone. I know he enjoys hanging out with his friends too. I love that his friends are so nice and fun to be around. Makes for some great laughs, amazing food and the best guitar pickin' around!! A yearly tradition that is WELL worth the wait! I am usually the only girl there when the hunting begins! Which is fine by me! =)
2. LABOR DAY!!
You know that the official day off work is not too far from Opening Day!!
3. Opening Day OFF!
No work for me next Wednesday!!! Woohoo!!!
4. The unofficial start to fall:
Fall is a wonderful time of year! School is back in session and you hope that cooler weather is on the way soon! Cool mornings and crisp evenings would be SO nice right now....(yay! for a new fall wardrobe too!)
The dove are everywhere!
I see them at my house, at the lot and all over the power lines throughout town.
So maybe we will have more than last year....fingers crossed!!! =)
Here is me and my super serious hunting face last year. You can see I have on Gucci sunglasses, a phone in my shooting hand, and a few beers in my pocket. That's how I roll out in field. lol! So Hardcore!!!
If we ever meet at the same lease, BEWARE!! haha!

Love this post! Couldn't agree more. I'd add college football to that list of things I look forward to because it kicks off a new season. We're not big sports-watchers here, but there's just something Fall-ish about having a game (any game) on in the background. Makes me want to eat some chili and drink a beer. (And I don't really like beer.) :)

As you can see, I'm not that advanced in hunting, but we still have fun anyway. J is so fun to hunt with. He's always willing to teach you things and explain it all.
There are some kids that hunt who are sons of the friends. They are hilarious. It's just like a family out there.
Everyone is cool. They do not like people who aren't fun, like them, etc.
So I take it as a compliment they are so nice to me. =)
Plus I find they appreciate my one-liners and smarty remarks. lol!
They told J last year, I was the best girl BY FAR that J has been with! =)
I have to agree.
