Lost Booty Found!

I will admit that my name will most likely NEVER appear in a sentence with words such as "perfect housekeeper", "overly organized" or "domestic goddess".

You will not come to my home and find my closet looking like a "Cribs" episode, with all clothes properly alphabetized by brand or arranged in rainbow order. (Although I have requested a chandelier in my new closet....)

No. Not at my house.

Granted, I aspire to be more organized everyday. But when I go in my closet and say to myself - "Gorgeous - THIS is THE day that everything is going to finally be perfectly organized and arranged", I find myself needing a nap, having errands to run, or even a deep desire to work in the yard.....

Maybe it is because I am lazy. OR Maybe it is because I have horrid childhood memories of having to "clean out my closet" because Grandmama is coming to visit.

We ALWAYS had to clean out the closets, along with the rest of our rooms. Why would Grandmummy look in the closets? Well, that's OBVIOUS! Grandmother comes to inspect clothes for inventory, to see what has been worn and what still has tags on it. That way, she can justify sneaking a few garments into her bag to take to other grandchildren. Grandmama should be a full supporter of Obama - Definitely a fan of the redistribution of wealth. Mind you, we were not the "wealthy" cousins per se, just the one she shoplifted clothes from. Grandma Winona would, I am sure, "redistribute" other things from our dear cousins to us. It's a hard-knocked life for us......

So yesterday, as I stand at the Pearly Gates of Garment-land, I notice a bag on the floor, underneath a hanging Juicy maxi dress. I forgot about this bag. I cannot recall the last time I used this little travel bag at all. But there it is.

If I was some OCD freak about organization, I would know, almost immediately, that the bag would most definitely be empty. I would have a log of the last time I used it. I could simply open my notebook and look up the stats. Heck, I would probably have a Polaroid of it with the list of every time I carried it.

But, alas, Gorgeous will never need meds for such an OCD affliction. And in my world, I know this little bag could have something still in it from it's last use.
Yes, sometimes I do not clean out bags. I just leave my supplies in it for the next time I use it. Don't judge....It comes in handy when you find a tampon hidden in a purse pocket when you are in a "bind"! =)

Inspecting this bag was a stroll down memory lane, with a scavenger hunt feel.
What's in the bag?
Anything good?
Any CASH still in the pockets?
Lost lipgloss that I thought I could never live without??

Not this time. This time it was JEWELRY!!

YAY!!! An old charm bracelet. I must have put in this bag when I moved last time.

If have found if Gorgeous loses jewelry, checking travel bags is always a good place to find it......

And I was, once again, successful in scavenging my own closet!

Reminds me of the time I found over $75 bucks in change when I cleaned out a bunch of old purses that I later sold on Ebay in a lot for $600. Not a bad return.
I literally jumped up and down at the Coinstar machine at the grocery store!
$75 BUCKS for 15 minutes worth of work!!!
That's a great deal!!!
People laughed at me, but hey, pennies count!!! And I had MILLIONS of them!!!

So, I am now able to keep wearing some very pretty little ditties that I thought were lost forever from my last move.....

I wonder what else I can find......Because my "stuff" needs a good organizing....
maybe when I get back from the birthday trip....IF I don't think of something else to do....

And for the record, if I ever am lucky enough to call that big closet with the chandelier mine, I think I may easily develop a little case of OCD......*wink wink*

It's like a surprise RE-GIFT to myself!
I almost expected confetti and streamers to shoot out of the bag - or at lest the bag to have a light coming from inside and then a loud "ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!" playing in the background!
LOL!!
